Had the bamboo big stick for nearly a year and absolutely LOVE the flex while paddling. I'm addicted to this new sport and have had many people stop me to ask where I got it from. Incredible creation! (Posted on 2/20/13)Price Value Quality - Great work out Review by skater

I've been using a Kahuna Big Stick for 2+ years and have been very happy with the quality, workout and company. I would HIGHLY recommend that you buy a "stick" that is about 3"-4" shorter than you are!!! People, and I, are sustaining elbow injuries from using "too big of a gear" in SUP and land paddling. "Too big of a gear" in SUP is too big of a blade, and too long of a stick in land paddling. Kuhuna Big Stick is a 1st rate product, but be smart with the length you buy. I'm 6 foot and have cut down my 6 foot standard and bamboo sticks to ~5'9". (Posted on 11/30/12)Price Value Quality - The Continual Evolution of Board Sports Review by Sageinhand

It never ceases to amaze me. Since the 70's board sports have evolved time and time again. This is another way to enjoy rollin'. To the doubters...Its not better than using your leg, its different, its an abosolute blast!Price Value Quality
Kinda like hiking...sure you can do it without trekking poles, but most hikers now using poles.
The Bamoo Big Stick is excellent in everyway with exception of the foot. Expect heavy wear right from the get-go. You may want go ahead and get an extra when you order your stick. You can use any board. I use my stick with a Loaded TanTien.
A Great work out! I look forward to thing yet come! (Posted on 7/22/12) - not like any gym Review by pajaro loco

the stick is one of the sweetest things i have ever done for outdoor entertainment, exercise and clearing your head.i got my stick on my 60th birthday and have logged 100s of miles.from as little as 10 miles up to 40 non stop and looking forward to summer to log longer trips.i recommend the stick for great upper body fun out or work out however you look at it. add bicycling 50 to 80 and you have it licked.i will turn 61 in may and looking to 100 and still sticking.i think everyone should get on the stick. I've had the stick now for about a year. It works great.Value Quality Price
I couldn't tell you what length it is but I think that many here are getting them too long if they are really intending to build up for paddleboarding. In paddleboarding you should be ending the stroke not too far after the blade crosses your foot..
While the finish may seem fragile at first it has held up well to significant use. I never get any blisters no matter how many miles I go.
I'm hoping to be able to update to the new blade.
All pros and no cons.

I have tried the adjustable big stick but love the look and the flex of the one piece bamboo big stick. I am 5'9" and the 5'6" big stick is perfect for me on my board with bottom mount trucks. Riding my other board with drop through trucks makes the big stick feel a little bit longer and offers me a little bit different ride. I am 43 and have gotten back into skateboarding by the way of longboards and the big stick makes it easier. You don't have to constantly change position to push with your foot, then coast, push with your foot, then coast, etc. Just stand on your board and landpaddle. The new 6' Bamboo with Kahuna Blade is SWEEEET!! I'm 5'10", and just switched over from the 5'6" Bamboo. So far, I'm noticing that the 6' flexes just a little more than the 5'6", which I love. I also like the longer stroke, which feels closer to me like SUP surfing. Pair the Blade with the Bamboo stick, and what do you have?? PERFECTION. Thank you Steve and the Kahuna Team!! Kinda pricey, but hey it's the highest quality land paddle you could own. In addition to all the great feedback already posted, the Big Stick also makes an excellent counterweight to allow harder carves. I still think it's faster and easier to get started by foot kicking, and holding the stick parallel to the ground while kicking actually enhances stability and forward momentum. After just 10-15 minutes, I could feel the stroke really working my triceps and lats. I count stroke reps on each side to keep it even. Next step...SUP surfing in Hawaii!! I am 5'9" and though the 5'6" stick works well, I am thinking about getting a 6' stick. This is a great sport, and moving down the street on my Chuck Barfoot 47" Banana long-board is a real blast! (Posted on 9/11/10)Price Value Quality - Amazing Review by Andy
