Totally worth it! Review by Kid is Colorado

Just got my 5'6" Classic Big Stick. I am about 6' 230lbs and ride a loaded Dervish. I just took this out for a spin and had to write a review. It's freaking sweet. I just got back on a 6 mile trek and my arms are pooped! The quality is amazing...really doubt I can break this and I'm even a big dude. Really easy to pick up and ride with. I was surprised at how much faster I feel comfortable going now with the stick in hand. I still do a hybrid of kick-pushing and paddling, especially on hills. The rubber "wheels" don't even show signs of wear yet and I did brake a few times. I am going to get fingerless gloves though because the stick does get slippery when you are sweaty and I have 1 small blister on the inside of my right thumb. Paddle both sides when you start out! Buy it, you'll love it...very aesthetically pleasing with the decor. Definitely turned heads! So much fun and is going to be my daily summer workout this year. (Posted on 6/14/11)
Great training tool Review by Reedster

Being 62-years old and starting to longboard...having the Big Stick provides me with the confidence to ramp-up my training in preparation for a forth coming surfing trip to Hawaii. The Big Stick is a great tool to add to anyone's dryland quiver, because the laws of gravity apply to anyone who jumps of either skate/long board. (Posted on 5/29/11)
Worth It Review by Plickplick22

I was looking for a good way to cross train for a triathlon without doing the same three activities over and over. I found a great cardio, core, and upper body workout with the Big Stick. It is moderately weighted but has a great feel to it. This stick in particular is pretty stiff, so if you don't have a lot of upper body strength, you might want one with more flex to help generate momentum.

That being said, I have to agree with the other reviews. Stretch before use or you will be sore. Work up to longer distances... you don't have to conquer the long rides first. Also, gloves are a must (at least in the beginning) until you build up some calluses. (Posted on 8/30/10)

I finally learned to ride a longboard thanks to the kahuna big stick. After a couple of hours, you get a core, upper body and cardio workout and having fun outdoors. The stick is very well made and felt very balanced as I used it like an extension of my arms. As I continually improve my skills, I can now roam the vast concrete ocean . Thank you Kahuna Creations for opening a new page in my life. (Posted on 8/9/10)

Took out tonight for the first time with my new Pohaku Surfer 48 and was stoked. The finish and attention to detail are excellant. Oval shaft is very ergonomic. At 5'9" the 5'6" Stick is perfect. The carbon rubber pucks have great grip and lessen the impact. Stick is great counter balance on drop knee cut backs. (Posted on 6/8/10)
"Life Changing!" Review by Inluvwithsara

I bought over a year ago...used it to commute, bomb (38 mph), barefoot cruise, parking garages, and to chase off a dog chasing me on a couple rides...
It allows your to pump at speeds faster than you can with a foot, pump as you corner, bleed off speed or stop as needed, and is great on helping beginners learn.
Two tips...
1. Lots of upper body stretching, you most likely are not used to using the needed muscles during skate sessions.
2. Consider some fingerless gloves...I got blisters the first couple of 4 hours sessions. (Posted on 7/2/09)
