I have owned the Hukilau for several months now. We have a blacktop road in our neighborhood without hills and it is basically a flat venue. In researching the board there were a number of references to the cross training potential of the board which I was particularly interested in. With surfing in mind, this board glides, makes beautiful turns, has mass to provide momentum, and yields just an amazing feel overall. The closest think I can compare it to is the feeling of surfing on my longboard. Again with glide and turns that are quite similar to being on the water. Hence it does serve as a surfing cross trainer which is huge as you can't always get to the water but you can launch from the driveway. The kids also love to take it for a spin and stampede for rides! I also purchased a Kahuna Stick and with the SUP in mind, a whole new dimension is introduced. Now it's SUP time and the rig becomes a good cross trainer for this based on my paddling experiences in the bay. Just a great board and my overall impression is a huge thumbs up for the Hukilau!
